how much does your building weigh, mr. Foster?

packaging - KNOLL

like most days, i took a few minutes this morning to look for inspiring designs online...and, like most days, there were plenty of inspirations to be discovered. while i can't share all of the exciting designs out on www, knoll packaging for a table lamp (found on advertising educational foundation) was simply irresistible - so, here it is... enjoy... and feel free to leave a comment!

cheers!

welcome to design foundations !

...Stripped to its essence, design can be defined as the human nature to shape and make our environment...to serve our needs and give meaning to our lives... (Heskett, 1) It is a classic, whole-minded aptitude which combines utility and significance (Pink, 70), and can be applied universally. The pyramids of Giza, a Nokia cell phone and the typeface on this page have one common underlying element - the critical intent which informed the act of their creation.

This course will expand into a range of design disciplines, resulting in a methodical survey of design artifacts and cultivate students' expression of originality, conceptual thinking and an analytical observation through hands-on exercises of creative problem solving.

We are excited to have you join our design journey. Welcome aboard!
